We're almost there...I guess. We are now under 100 days until the New England Patriots kick off against the division rival, and drastically improved, Miami Dolphins. Since we're into double digit days, and football jersey numbers run from one all the way to 99, let's count down to Patriots kick off with the greatest Patriots at each number. Quick side note, some of these 99 players will be players that did not have a very good or long career. Keep in mind the Patriots have not been relevant for the majority of their time in the National Football League; success is fairly new to the organization. Since I am a little late to the party and we are at 95 days away, here are 99-96 briefly. Starting with 95, I will have a little to say about each player. So without further adieu, here are the best Patriots to wear each jersey number.... #99 - Steve DeOssie, LB #98 - Anthony Pleasant, DE #97 - Jarvis Green, DE #96 - Brent Williams, DE #95 - Roman Phifer, LB Had his Patriots career not been marred by injuries, Rosevelt Colvin could very well hold this spot. However, he was constantly injured and Phifer won three Super Bowls while starting at linebacker. Phifer signed with the Patriots as a 33 year old and he immediately became an impact player on defense. The Patriots always seem to sign a veteran who is north of 30 and get a lot out of them. Cornerback Terrell Buckley called him the MVP of the 2001 season.
